Microsoft and Emerald systems, Inc. have partnered to provide cutting edge software solutions to the Justice & Public Safety market since 2000. Emerald and Microsoft recognized in 1998 that Web-based solutions provided the best ROI to government agencies across the board.
With Microsoft’s assistance, Emerald developed the first Web-based regional information sharing systems in the states of Wisconsin and Minnesota in 2000 and 1999 respectively. The power of these applications was demonstrated to the Wisconsin Crime Information Bureau at their annual business meeting the day after 9/11. The applications utilized Microsoft SQL Server, ASP, and scripting languages on a Windows platform to deliver state of the art capabilities. Microsoft created case studies on these programs and they received national press.
Since 2001, Emerald has launched key Web-based applications that deliver leading edge capabilities. Products like JADE II (now called Sentinel) pioneered the market for web applications in the corrections market. Sentinel is continually upgraded with new functions and the latest in technology providing key Web-based functions such as Electronic Signature, Integrated Document Scanning, and Single Fingerprint Identification. Sentinel is considered a "go to" product by Microsoft and is linked off their corporate web site. Sentinel comes in two versions utilizing SQL Server 2000 and 2005 and development with MS ASP and ASP.NET. Both run on the Windows Server 2003 platform.
In 2003, Emerald Systems Inc. launched its Web-based Gang and Narcotic Task Force Case Management System called PYRAMID. PYRAMID provides intelligence tracking and gang, suspect, vehicle and investigation management functions. It provides a platform for delivering effective collaboration, encrypted communication, cross referencing, and de-confliction processes. PYRAMID is designed for local, regional, state or interstate operations to effectively stay on top of developing crime issues. PYRAMID.NET will be launched in the third quarter of 2006 running on WIN 2003 and SQL Server 2005 to provide robust Web-based and Web-Services based functions for law enforcement.
