About Emerald Systems

Emerald Systems was founded in 1996 for the purpose of developing Web-based records management and information sharing software for government. Web based applications, then, were not commonplace and were considered by some to be security risks.

A Vision of the Future

Emerald Systems had a vision of a coming paradigm shift that would change the way Government does business. In 1998, Emerald Systems demonstrated that disparate systems, considered by many to be a blockade to homogenous information processing, did not represent a barrier to web information sharing. Security concerns became relative and addressable and created the opportunity to implement processes that provided increased benefit to agencies. Law Enforcement agencies came to realize the value of sharing information and of being able to collaborate on investigative processes securely. The business of Emerald Systems began to grow.

St. Croix Chippewa Indians of Wisconsin

In March 2005, Emerald Systems, Inc. was acquired by the St. Croix Chippewa Indians to enhance their growth into non-gaming businesses and to pursue state and federal opportunities. A 100% minority owned business, Emerald Systems holds an SBA 8(a) certificate, and is a member of The US Dept. of Justice Integrated Justice Information Systems (IJIS) Institute. Emerald Systems, Inc. is a Microsoft Government Partner.
